Organized by the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) and the China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE), the Hong Kong Forum on U.S.-China Relations 2023 will be held in HK for two consecutive days starting today (from Nov. 9 to Nov. 10), with the theme of "Changes and Progress".
Xie Feng, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the United States of America, said in his video message that since the establishment of the China-U.S. Exchange Foundation in 2008, the Foundation has been committed to promoting constructive dialogue and diversified exchanges between the people of China and the United States, and has made positive contributions to the promotion of China-U.S. exchanges.
Xie mentioned that the changes in the world and the times are unfolding in an unprecedented way, the pressure on the global economy is increasing, the crisis in Ukraine is continuing, the fire in the Middle East is rising again, and the instability and uncertainty are increasing, while the people of various countries have a stronger desire to seek peace, development, and cooperation.
Xie pointed out that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Biden, and with the joint efforts of the two sides, the China-U.S. relations have shown positive signs of stabilization. The two sides have launched a series of high-level exchanges, and both sides believe that it is useful and necessary for China and the U.S. to maintain dialogue, and both sides hope that relations between China and the United States will be stabilized and improved as soon as possible, he added.
