Immigration officials are to open a temporary office in Kwun Tong from Nov. 1 to handle applications for ID cards.
They said that the office is necessary to deal with the 400,000 persons who have not yet upgraded to new smart ID cards and to relieve demand on services caused by numerous talent entrance initiatives.
The office will also issue replacement cards for new permanent residents and people reaching the ages of 11 and 18.
The office on Wai Yip Street will be open from 8am to 10pm.
