At the Happy Valley theme park in Shenzhen, a roller coaster crash has left eight people injured. The ride has been suspended while a safety inspection is conducted.
On its official Weibo page, Shenzhen Happy Valley said the incident happened at around 6.30 pm on Friday (Oct. 27), and the eight injured people are said to be in stable condition.
It said the park would be closed on Saturday (Oct. 28) and Sunday (Oct. 29) for a safety check, and people who had bought tickets would be able to get a full refund.
Mainland media reported that most of the injured were taken to the University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital.
The hospital said in a statement that while some patients with less critical injuries had been released, others with more significant injuries remained in the hospital.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
