Aussie dessert brand Sara Lee, well-known for its popular frozen cheesecakes, has gone into voluntary administration.
FTI Consulting was appointed as a voluntary administrator on Tuesday.
The firm will seek a restructuring and sale of the Sara Lee business, while still "continuing operations".
Sara Lee has rights to operate in New Zealand and Australia, as well as South East Asia and the Middle East.
Sara Lee has been popular among Hong Kong people since it entered the local market in the 1980s. Previously, some HK people's fans even sent a special email to the Australian company in the hope of resuming the sale of melon flavor cakes in HK.
The sudden news of the brand has evoked the memory of many HK people, who have expressed their sadness.
