Lingnan University held its Honorary Fellowship Presentation Ceremony 2023 today (Oct. 12). Mr Augustine Wong Ho-ming, Deputy Chairman of the University Council, conferred honorary fellowships upon three distinguished individuals in recognition of their outstanding achievements in their respective professions and valuable contributions to society.

Recipients of Lingnan University's Honorary Fellowship this year are entrepreneur Mr Chong Shing-hum, BBS, experienced civil engineer and project manager Dr Fok Wing-huen, and a titan in the industrial and real estate sectors Dr Winnie Ko Pui-shuen, BBS, JP.

On behalf of the honorary fellows, Dr Fok Wing-huen delivered an address at the Ceremony and expressed their gratitude to the University for conferring upon them the honor. He hoped that Lingnan students will continue to be educated to serve society, and that, with the support of the Council, the new President, Prof S. Joe Qin, will raise the University to new heights. "There is no wonder why Lingnan has always been ranked top three globally for 'quality education' in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings ever since the category was introduced some years ago. Secondly, most students are willing and ready to serve society even before they graduate, thanks to the core credit-bearing service-learning programs in the curriculum. Certainly the University's motto 'Education for Service' is both honoured and adhered to. The 'learning for advancement and serving the society' mentality happens to be shared by Dr Winnie Ko Pui-shuen, Mr Chong Shing-hum, and myself. Although we walked different paths in life, we have all been gaining strength through continuous learning and other means, and serving society selflessly with our capabilities and resources," he said.
