The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government held a flag-raising ceremony this morning (Oct. 1) at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai to celebrate the 74th National Day. Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu, senior government officials, and representatives from various sectors of society attended the ceremony to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
The flag-raising ceremony took place at 8:00 am at Golden Bauhinia Square outside the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. During the ceremony, the police band performed, and the Clementi Secondary School choir sang the national anthem under the lead vocals of singers. Distinguished members of society and uniformed teams attended the ceremony, but no public viewing area was on-site.
