In response to the government's initiative to promote the night economy, Waterfront Carnival is teaming up with Central Market and the Fringe Club to introduce a series of thrilling nighttime activities starting from September.
The activities include a limited-time Waterfront Carnival at Wan Chai Harbourfront coordinated by Victoria Waters, co-organized by the Development Bureau, Fringe Club and Hong Kong Network for the Promotion of Inclusive Society (HKNPIS), followed by the two consecutive beer festivals at Central Market, as well as an exciting lineup of events at the Fringe Club, including the "Fringe International Music Festival" and the "Fringe Art Asylum", aiming to invigorate consumer sentiment and stimulate economic growth.
This collaboration brings together the vibrant night scenes of Victoria Harbour, the transformation of Wan Chai Harbourfront into a bustling night market, the distinctive allure of Central Market that seamlessly blends the past and the present, and the cultural and artistic influence of the Fringe Club. It offers both residents and tourists a series of dynamic nighttime entertainment experiences, perfectly showcasing the lively charm of HK as "Asia's World City."
"Central Market will hold two major beer festivals: the Hong Kong Tsingtao International Beer Carnival and the Central Market Oktoberfest 2023," Angie Chung, General Manager of Central Market, Chinachem Group said, "Through these festivals, we actively support the government's efforts to stimulate the nighttime economy."
The three prominent nighttime landmarks, namely the Waterfront Carnival, Central Market, and Fringe Club, will not only present a series of iconic events but also provide a range of captivating "Night Consumption Exclusive" privileges. Both the public and tourists can embark on a captivating HK night market journey by traversing the "Shared Path" that connects the harbourfront promenades of Central and Wan Chai. Visitors can begin their experience at Wan Chai's waterfront promenade, immersing themselves in the ephemeral charm of the limited-time Waterfront Carnival, indulging in delectable street-style local snacks, and exploring authentic murals and art galleries. They can then cross the pedestrian bridge in Central and arrive at the lively community hotspot of Central Market, conceptualized as a "Playground for All," where they can revel in the festive ambiance of the beer festival. Lastly, they can savor a series of captivating musical performances by renowned singers from the Fringe Club, a nurturing ground for local music talent, thus culminating their perfect night tour of Hong Kong Island.
During the Waterfront Carnival, Central Market will be giving out "Central Market HK$20 F&B Coupon" so that HK citizens and travelers can enjoy a series of delicacies at Central Market.
