
The Deputy Secretary for Justice, Cheung Kwok-kwan, will lead a delegation of more than 30 people comprising legal and dispute resolution professionals from the Law Society of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Bar Association, as well as a Legislative Councillor tomorrow (Sept. 20) on a visit to Haikou, Hainan, to attend the first seminar organized by the Department of Justice in Hainan to promote HK's legal and dispute resolution services.
Cheung and his delegation will attend the seminar on the morning of September 21 to introduce the commercial and legal sectors in Hainan to HK's unique advantages under "one country, two systems", with the strong support of the motherland while being closely connected to the world, and elaborate on the significance of HK's legal and dispute resolution services in expediting the development of Hainan into a globally influential and high-level free trade port.
During the visit, Cheung and his delegation will also meet with officials of the People's Government of Hainan Province and representatives of the local legal sector to enhance cooperation and foster the complementarity and mutual benefits between the two places.
Cheung and the delegation will conclude their visit and return to HK in the evening on September 21.
