The Land Registry recorded 4,660 sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in August, up 5.3% compared with July, but 11% lower year-on-year.
The total consideration for such agreements increased 5.8% from July to $34.9 billion in August, while a 61.9% year-on-year decrease was recorded.
Of the agreements, 3,247 were for residential units, up 5.9% from July but 21.5% lower than a year ago.
The total consideration of residential units was $28.6 billion, a rise of 7.7% compared with July but down 11.8% from August last year.
There were 449,051 land register searches last month.
