Chief Executive, John Lee Ka-chiu, will deliver his second Policy Address on October 25. An extensive consultation exercise is now in full swing. Sources said that he will visit a primary school in Shau Kei Wan on Sunday (August 20) to hold a consultation meeting. A number of Secretaries of Departments and Directors of Bureaux will come together to collect public views.
Sources mentioned that the format of the consultation meeting would be similar to that of last year, with Lee listening to the views of the public first and then discussing them in groups. Officials will participate in the exchanges of sub-groups, and Lee will also go to different sub-groups to discuss with the public. This year, more officials attended the district consultation forums than last year, and all the accountability team had to be mobilised.
Lee said earlier that he and his team are working hard to meet people from different sectors of the community and actively listen to their views and expectations of the Government's administration. He said that he fully feels that people from different sectors of the community have high expectations for the Government to effectively address people's livelihood concerns and build a caring and inclusive society.
