
Typhoon Khanun, the sixth typhoon of this year, made landfall on the southern coast of South Korea on Thursday (August 10), according to The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA).
Special warnings for land and sea typhoons have been issued for most parts of Korea, with rainstorms of up to 500 millimeters expected along the northeastern coast, and 100 to 200 millimeters in the metropolitan area and west-central coastal areas. As a result of the storm, transportation across Korea has been greatly affected, with many flights and trains canceled.
