
An 11-year-old Hong Kong immigrant, Adrian Li, who lives in Barnet, London, has got his highest ever score of 162 on the Mensa IQ test, placing him in the top 1 percent of the world's scores and surpassing both Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking's score of 160.
According to British media reports, Adrian and his family immigrated to Barnet from Hong Kong in 2022. Adrian's mother, Rachel Lau, said her son has been gifted with an extraordinary talent since he was a child (childhood).
Ms. Lau said Adrian has been obsessed with reading since he was two.
He started to read the full text version of his favourite Star Wars books during kindergarten. and he even wrote a series of exciting adventure stories called Monster Quest at the age of eight, according to Adrian’s mother.
In addition to academia, Adrian has many hobbies including chess, squash, fencing, skiing, table tennis, taekwondo, rowing, etc.
"At first I had only thought about achieving a score of 148 to enter the Mensa IQ society... I had never, ever thought that I would come anywhere near the score of 160 that Einstein had. This has been so, so amazing and emotional for me." Adrian said.
Adrian will be attending Queen Elizabeth's School in Barnet, London in September this year, and his ambition is to get a degree from Cambridge and become the best cardiologist in the world.
