China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda announced today (July 11) that the giant panda Huani (Korean name: Aibao) in South Korea successfully gave birth to a pair of female cubs on July 7.
This is the first pair of giant panda cubs born overseas this year, and also the first pair of giant panda twins born in South Korea.
According to reports, in mid-February, the giant panda showed signs of heat. The Chinese and Korean expert teams immediately set up an online technical guidance and exchange platform. Under the careful guidance of experts from the Panda Center, "Huani" and "Yuanxin" (Korean name: Lebao) successfully completed natural mating.
"Hua Ni" had a pregnancy reaction in early June. In order to ensure the smooth production of "Huani", the Panda Center immediately sent experts to South Korea to provide on-site guidance on the feeding management and child rearing of "Huani" before and after production.
At 4:52 am and 6:39 am on July 7th, Korean time, "Hua Ni" successfully gave birth to a pair of twin cubs. The eldest weighed 180 grams and the second child weighed 140 grams.
