As the Mainland's Labor Day Holiday begins (April 29 to May 3), the Immigration Department (ImmD) estimates that about 4.61 million people (including Hong Kong residents and visitors) will enter and leave Hong Kong via various air, land and sea control points.
ImmD estimates that the busiest day for land departures will be today (April 29), with 359,000 departures, and the peak day for arrivals will be May 1, with 422,000 arrivals.
ImmD expects that Lo Wu will be the busiest control point during the holiday period, with about 1.13 million passengers entering and leaving Hong Kong, or a daily average of about 188,000 passengers.
The Lok Ma Chau Spur Line and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge control points will also be very busy, with a daily average of 134,000 and 92,000 passengers respectively.
