Organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), the Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival 2023 will launch the Movie Tram activity on the afternoons of weekends from May 6 to 21.
Led by docents, participants will take a stroll on the streets in Central and Western Districts to explore classic film locations in HK and listen to film specialists' sharing of behind-the-scene stories and inspirations for cinematic creativity on board a thematic tram, experiencing a real cultural journey. Tickets priced at $100 per person are now available at URBTIX.
In the Movie Tram activity, there are two routes, eastbound or westbound, covering the same attractions. With 15 participants per tour, the tour, conducted in Cantonese, will run for approximately two hours.
Led by docents, participants will walk around spots in Central and Western District, including Kau U Fong, Mee Lun Street, PMQ, Tank Lane and Western Market, to explore the shooting locations of movies "Rouge", "Arrest The Restless", "In the Mood for Love", "Infernal Affairs", "Three: Going Home" and "The Way We Dance".
Guests joining the tram ride include director and actor Chan Kin-long; still photographer and movie poster designer Quist Tsang; director, writer and actress Kearen Pang; and director and producer Stanley Kwan.
The Movie Tram is one of the programs under the Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival 2023 presented by the LCSD. Walk In Hong Kong is the collaborative organization of this program.
The first Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival organized by the LCSD aims to offer an array of programs from pop concerts and performances to thematic exhibitions, film screenings, and outdoor and outreach activities, showcasing HK's unique cultural creativity and vibrancy.
