The Labour Department (LD) will hold the Pursuing New Opportunities Job Fair and Greater Bay Area (GBA) Youth Employment Scheme Job Expo at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai on March 30. More than 3,000 quality vacancies will be provided for job seekers, including positions that are more suitable for graduates of tertiary institutions.
About 35 organizations will participate in the Pursuing New Opportunities Job Fair, offering over 2,600 job vacancies from various industries with more than 1,200 of them coming from the catering, retail and hotel industries.
The organizations will set up booths to conduct recruitment on the spot. A wide variety of positions will be offered, including senior sales manager, accounting officer, systems engineer, investment analyst, community relations officer, marine operations assistant officer, aircraft engineering license trainee, e-commerce assistant, nutritionist, registered nurse, marketing assistant and customer services officer.
Most vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from HK$12,000 to HK$23,000. Around 81 percent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. About 84 percent of the vacancies require an education level of Secondary Seven or below, and around 68 percent are open to job seekers without relevant work experience.
In addition, more than 20 organizations from various industries will participate in the GBA Youth Employment Scheme Job Expo, providing over 400 job vacancies in GBA Mainland cities, such as management trainees, administrative executives, banking operations officers, news editors, product designers, engineer and business intelligence analyst to eligible graduates at a monthly salary of not less than HK$18,000. HK residents awarded bachelor's degrees or above from 2021 to 2023 can apply for the vacancies.
The GBA Youth Employment Scheme kick-off ceremony and briefing session will be held at 2.30 pm on the same day.
Job seekers can submit job applications during the event and may be selected for on-the-spot interviews. They can also make inquiries on the employment services provided by the LD at its counter inside the venue.
The event will be held at Hall 3G of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai, from 11 am to 5.30 pm, with the final admission time at 5 pm, and admission is free.
