Foreign political, and business leaders were pleasantly surprised by how instantly and accurately a smart voice translator developed by iFLYTEK can work when tested with various languages.
A delegation of foreign consular corps and business communities in Hong Kong on Wednesday (March 22) visited the iFLYTEK South China Research Institute and APT Electronics Co., Ltd to learn about the cutting-edge technology application of artificial intelligence speech and optoelectronic semiconductors.
Founded in 1999, iFLYTEK is a well-known intelligent speech and artificial intelligence publicly listed company in the Asia-Pacific Region.
A representative of the company demonstrated to the delegation its latest version of an instant intelligent voice translator, which aroused great interest from the delegation. The device supports the translation of more than 100 languages in foreign countries.
Consulate officials and representatives of chambers of commerce from different countries, who are native speakers of Turkish, Spanish, Polish, etc., were holding the device for evaluation one after another. And the results, apparently, exceeded their expectations, and each traslation was met with enthusiastic applause.
"Is this product available anywhere? How much does it cost? I'd like to buy one now," said Peyami Kalyoucu, Consul General of Türkiye in Hong Kong, hailing the device as "very convenient and advanced."
The delegation also visited APT Electronics, a company that walked out from the laboratories of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. It has grown into a leading company in the field of semiconductors and LEDs, and has become a model of high-tech cooperation between Guangdong and HK.
According to a presenter, APT Electronics has laid out a series of "LED+" products based on its core technology, which have been widely applied in the fields of intelligent car lighting, plant lighting, and smart lighting, etc. World-renowned brands such as Philips, Samsung Electronics, Toyota, TCL, Hisense, Geely Automobile, etc. have become their in-depth cooperation partners.
After visiting the exhibition hall, the delegation found that many of the advanced LED products and technologies around them were actually from APT. They said that they have seen the synergetic effect of the advantages of research, manufacturing and market in Guangdong and Hong Kong, which has helped boost technology enterprises in the region.
The next destination on the delegation's itinerary is the city of Zhuhai, which is located on the west bank of Pearl River estuary on the central coast of southern Guangdong province.
Zhuhai was one of the original four Special Economic Zones established in 1980, as well as one of China's premier tourist destinations, being called the Chinese Riviera.
At a Zhuhai promotion banquet on Wednesday evening, the city was presented to the delegation as an ideal land for investment and one of China's happiest cities.
