Today (March 20) morning at 9 o'clock, along Ching Cheung Road in the direction of the New Territories, a KMB went out of control in front of Ching Lai Court, knocked on the road and tilted the curb.
The left side of the front of the bus was severely damaged.
More than 50 passengers were once trapped in the upper deck of the bus, and at least 44 passengers were sent to the hospital, while the bus captain was in a coma and regained consciousness later on.
The bus was moved back to the middle of the road and towed away by nearly 2 p.m.
After waking up, the bus captain refused to be sent to the hospital and stayed at the scene to help with the police investigation.
The KMB said that the bus captain has more than two years of experience in driving the relevant routes. The day before yesterday (March 18) was his day off, while the bus concerned had just completed its regular inspection last Thursday (March 16).
