OpenAI allows integration of ChatGPT into apps, faster and more resistant than existing GPT-3.5
OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT and DALL-E 2, announced several major changes today (March 3).
First, it launched developer APIs for ChatGPT and Whisper voice transcription models. Also, it changed its terms of service to allow developers to opt out of using their data for improvements and added a 30-day data retention policy.
The new ChatGPT API will use the same artificial intelligence model (gpt-3.5-turbo) as the popular chat tool, allowing developers to add unchanged or flavored versions of ChatGPT to their apps.
The ChatGPT API is priced at $0.002 per 1000 tokens (about 750 words). It also offers a dedicated capacity option for developers who want to use more tokens than the standard API. The new developer option adds ChatGPT Plus for consumers, a $20 per month service launched in February.
