According to Xinhua News Agency on Feb. 11, China CNR Tangshan held the first metro train delivery ceremony and "public open day" at the Trindade metro station in downtown Porto, Portugal. This is the first time China-made urban rail vehicles exported to EU countries.
The president of Porto Metro, Mr. Braga, introduced that the first vehicle will be put into operation in May after completing the relevant tests, and the rest of the vehicles will be delivered in batches by the end of September.
Chinese Ambassador to Portugal Zhao Bentang said that the supply of new metro trains to Porto by CNR Tangshan is an example of high-level and pragmatic cooperation between China and Portugal, and provides a new model for further expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the future.
