HKO warns of cold weather tonight
The Hong Kong Observatory said today (Jan. 24) that the intense northeast monsoon associated with a cold front is affecting southern China. Locally, temperatures will fall appreciably to a minimum of around 12 degrees tonight.
"It will be cold in the morning of the fourth day of the Lunar New Year (Jan. 25). Temperatures will fall to around 10 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories," it said in a notice.
Strong winds are expected from the north. The public is reminded to beware of the possible danger brought by rough seas.
