Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant marketed himself to absolute perfection on Saturday (Jan. 14) night, both on and off the court.
Morant created a jam in the third quarter of Memphis' game against the Indiana Pacers. Following a screen from teammate Santi Aldama, the 23-year-old sprinted into the paint before rising to dunk Pacers big man Jalen Smith's soul right out of his body.
With that dunk, Morant became the legal owner of the Indiana Pacers, and Smith was placed under witness protection.
After the game, when asked what inspired his enormous dunk, which the Grizzlies won 130–112, Morant gave a legendary remark.
Morant answered, according to Grizzlies writer Drew Hill, "The Ja 1s."
The Ja 1s, which were just released last month, are Morant's first pair of Nike-branded trademark shoes.
