Recently, canned yellow peaches have suddenly become really popular in mainland China. In some towns of Pingyi County, Linyi City, Shandong Province, the "capital of canned fruits in China," local canned goods manufacturers have witnessed a huge increase in orders.
According to the head of a leading canned fruit company, online orders of canned yellow peaches have increased tenfold, with 10,000 orders per day. Although some experts have made it clear that canned yellow peaches are not therapeutic medically, netizens are still fanatic about them.
Chang Rongshan, a virologist in mainland China, said that canned yellow peaches could only serve as a psychological treatment instead of a medical one. He pointed out that fresh fruits could help ease the fatigue and weakness resulting from COVID-19.
