Karim Benzema, who left France's World Cup squad earlier due to injury, returned to the Real Madrid training base instead of rushing back to the national team after recovering from his injury.
Karim Benzema was not dropped from France's squad after his injury last month, so when the news broke that he had recovered from his injury, it was uncertain whether he would immediately return to Qatar.
However, the striker seems to have no intention of returning to the national team for the rest of the tournament, and returned to the Real Madrid training base on Sunday (Dec. 11) to resume training.
As France close in on a potential second successive final, and a chance to defend their 2018 title, Benzema issued a rallying call from Madrid to Doha.
"Come on guys, two more games, you're almost there. I'm behind you… Let's go," he posted on Instagram.
