Jiuri Mountain, located in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, is strongly connected to the great events, wind praying ceremonies, which took place about 700 years ago. At that time, Quanzhou people made their living on the sea. They followed the regular patterns of the monsoons when sailing out and returning home. It is said that every year people at the seaside would pray to the sea god at the Zhaohui Temple at the foot of Jiuri Mountain to pray for smooth and safe voyages. Jiuri Mountain Wind Praying Inscriptions record the spectacular ceremonies of that time and show generations of Fujian people traveling across the seas with pioneering and innovative spirit, and as time goes by, they are perpetually engraved in the long course of history. Dai Jomar Lee, a Philippine boy, who has deep connections with Quanzhou visits Jiuri Mountain. How does he learn about the inscriptions? Watch the video and find out.
