The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has recently said that it will cut crude oil production in order to stabilize oil prices.
However, this move would cause some prices in the US to rise and therefore be highly detrimental to the approval ratings of the current US administration and the upcoming mid-term election.
The US is trying to apply pressure and has publicly stated that President Joe Biden is to "re-evaluate" the US relationship with Saudi Arabia.
