Hong Kong government has relaxed some of the anti-epidemic measures from today (Oct. 6), including the change of the cap on restaurant dining to 12 persons per table.
Some restaurants already have two large tables booked during the morning tea time.
Some customers said that the increase in the maximum number of people per table allows for a whole family's dinner, hoping that the authorities can relax more measures and do more on boundary crossing with the Chinese Mainland.
Some people said that they were stuck at home for too long in the past, and now with the relaxation and the consumption vouchers, they would go out for dinner and gatherings more often.
They also hoped that the authorities extend the operating hours of restaurants, saying that now most of the restaurants ask customers to pay their bills before 9:00 pm, and they can not sit for a while longer to talk.
At the same time, a maximum of 240 guests can attend banquets, according to the Health Bureau, but some wedding venues are still restricted.
According to some prospective couples, the new measures only apply to hotels, while other wedding venues such as churches are still limited in number.
A few wedding companies said that some of the event venues are still limited to 85% of the capacity.
