The Kowloon Motor Bus Co. (1933) Ltd (KMB) announced today that it will gradually upgrade its fleet to 5G buses, providing free 5G Wi-Fi service on all its buses with unlimited daily usage.
KMB will also add an "Upper Deck Seat Display" in the bus compartment and a "Bus Capacity" function in the mobile app App 1933.
KMB will also add a new passenger counting system which will display the number of seats on the upper deck on the display near the staircase on the lower deck to encourage passengers to take seats on the upper deck.
In addition, the system also counts the number of passengers in the entire bus and transmits the data in real-time to KMB's mobile application App 1933, which provides a graphical representation of the capacity of upcoming buses on each route for waiting passengers.
