A fire broke out at Container Terminal 1 in Kwai Chung at 1.31 am today (Sept. 8). The fire was upgraded to a No. 3 alarm at 1.41 am, surrounded at 4.05 am and put under control at 4.30 am. It was largely put out at 5.25 am.
Firemen used four jets and mobilized four breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze.
Two persons were self-evacuated to places of safety. Among them, one person sustained minor arm injuries.
