Early this month, the Hong Kong government disbursed the first voucher under the 2022 (Phase II) Consumption Voucher Scheme to about 6.36 million eligible persons.
In this video, Daniel Szuc, an Australian host who has been living in HK for many years, interviewed HK citizens on the streets of Causeway Bay about how they are spending their vouchers.
Unlike previous batches, the scheme this time has been expanded to include non-permanent residents, which is believed to help retain more talents for the city.
When asked how they used the vouchers, some respondents said they had already used them to buy household items, while others were saving up to buy a new mobile phone later.
Others also responded positively, saying that the vouchers have boosted HK's economy and employment rate. What do HK citizens say about the scheme? How are they spending the vouchers? Watch the film now for more!
