
Former Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee Siu-kwong, 73, was reported to have died in his sleep on Sunday morning (Aug. 14).
Lee served as Secretary for Security from August 2003 to 2012, succeeding Regina Ip Lau Suk-yee, the current Convenor of the Executive Council. Lee served in the government for 38 years in total.
Lee joined Immigration Department in 1974 as Immigration Officer, following up as Assistant Director of Immigration in 1995, Deputy Director in 1997, and Director of Immigration in October 1998.
He was appointed as Commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption by the former Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa in July 2002, making him the first Commissioner that comes from the disciplined services.
