Hong Kong's Chief Executive Lee Ka-chiu, said on social media today (July 30) that he and the Chief Secretary for Administration, Chan Kwok-kee, visited a grassroots family in Sham Shui Po today to meet with a pupil who is about to enter Form Two.

According to Lee, the pupil's favorite subject is Chinese History, and when he grows up, he hopes to join the government so that he can serve the community and repay his parents. The child has been a violinist since he was a child and has been fortunate to receive a grant from a community center to study violin and recently joined an orchestra.

The young violinist has been studying violin for several years but has not taken any grade exams. He hopes to take the more difficult grade exams in one go in the future, so that he can save a lot of money for the family.

Lee said he hopes that the "Task Force to Lift Underprivileged Students out of Intergenerational Poverty" will help more young people who have ambition but are constrained by their financial situation, and create more opportunities and hope for them, helping them to move up the social ladder and give full play to their talents.
