Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said today (July 5) that the current government attaches great importance to the housing problem.
Speaking at a press conference before attending the Executive Council Meeting, Lee said that he knows everyone in HK is very concerned about housing issues, so he also mentioned tackling the supply of housing in his election manifesto.
He reiterated that he attaches great importance to the housing problem and that his team will spare no effort to work together to solve it. Lee added that many deep-rooted problems or laws are involved, and there are short-, medium- and long-term problems in housing that need to be dealt with.
He pointed out that two working groups will be set up, one of which will be action-oriented, and the other will be responsible for land supply problems. He stressed that he is not a Chief Executive who only chants slogans.
