The Guangdong Haishang Soujiu Centre said on Monday (July 4) that another crew member of the mainland engineering vessel Fujing 001 has been rescued in the early hours of the morning.
Typhoon Chaba hit Guangdong and other parts of the country recently, and the Fujing 001 broke off and sank in the waters off Yangjiang, Guangdong last Saturday (July 2), with 30 people on board falling overboard. In addition to the Hong Kong Government Flying Service, a number of professional rescue and maritime patrol vessels from the South China Sea Rescue Bureau and Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration, as well as a number of merchant vessels and marine police vessels from the vicinity of the scene, also attended the rescue.
The Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, the Guangdong Provincial Government, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Emergency Management attached great importance to the incident. The authorities have also requested that an investigation be conducted in a timely manner to identify the problem and pursue responsibilities in a serious manner in accordance with the law.
