The Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Saturday (July 2) held a seminar at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to learn and implement the gist and content of President Xi Jinping's important speech. Luo Huining, the Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, delivered a speech. He said, deeply understanding President Xi Jinping's important assertion on the long-term adherence to "one country, two systems", we should further strengthen our self-confidence on the "one country, two systems". As long as we adhere to the "one country, two systems", we will certainly be able to promote the implementation of "one country, two systems" to achieve new and greater success.

Luo said President Xi pointed out that the practice of "one country, two systems" has achieved success in Hong Kong recognized by all, which made it clear that there is no reason to change such a good system, and "one country, two systems" must be adhered to over the long run and it has historically answered the important question of how long the practice of "one country, two systems" will last. This important assertion has been fully tested by the successful implementation of "one country, two systems". President Xi Jinping comprehensively summed up the universally recognized success of the "one country, two systems" practice in Hong Kong from three aspects, emphasizing that "one country, two systems" has been repeatedly tested by practice and is in line with the fundamental interests of the country and of Hong Kong and Macao. It has been fully supported by more than 1.4 billion people of the motherland, and unanimously supported by Hong Kong and Macao residents, and generally approved by the international community.

Luo pointed out that in the past two years, with the firm support of the Central Government, Hong Kong has withstood the test of the most severe situation since the handover, making up for a series of loopholes in the short board of the system, and achieving a major turnaround from chaos to governance.

President Xi Jinping pointed out that "one country, two systems" is a great innovation unprecedented in history for Hong Kong has returned to the motherland and has been reintegrated into the national governance system. Luo said that since the handover, the Communist Party of China has made maintaining the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong under "one country, two systems" a major issue in the governance of the country, and has continuously pushed forward theoretical innovations based on practice. The important assertion emphasized by President Xi Jinping once again reflects that the Central Government's insistence on the principle of "one country, two systems" is not an expedient, but a long-term plan, signifying that "one country, two systems" will definitely develop in the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and will move forward with the Party and the State. This important assertion demonstrates the bright future of the practice of "one country, two systems" in Hong Kong.

President Xi Jinping stressed that the fundamental purpose of "one country, two systems" is to safeguard the sovereignty, security and development interests of the country, and to maintain the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macao. Luo pointed out that "one country, two systems" is a good system to ensure the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and to safeguard the well-being of our compatriots, and must be upheld over the long run. As long as we do not waver in our adherence to "one country, two systems", the future of Hong Kong will certainly be brighter.

Luo pointed out that the important speech by President Xi Jinping has given Hong Kong a dose of reassurance and greatly enhanced the confidence of Hong Kong compatriots and the international community in the stability of "one country, two systems". Those who are worried that the "one country, two systems" policy will change in the future can now rest assured, and those rumors that discredit "one country, two systems" has been dispelled. Looking ahead, no matter what kind of external interference we face, no matter what kind of twists and turns and difficulties we encounter, as long as we adhere to the "one country, two systems" policy, we will certainly be able to promote the practice of "one country, two systems" to achieve new and greater success.
