Son Heung-min, a Korean striker in Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, tied Mohamed Salah for the English Premier League Golden Boot after scoring twice in the final round on May 22, helping his team qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.
Previously, Son was one goal behind Salah in the scoring charts. After scoring twice in the last round of the EPL, Son scored 23 goals in the league and shared the best scorer with Salah, who scored once in the last round.
Among his 23 goals, Son did not score a single penalty, while his opponent Salah had five. Son became the 10th top scorer in the history of the EPL to score without a penalty.
It was also a great honour for an Asian soccer player Son Heung-min to win the EPL Golden Boot, as he is the first top scorer from an Asian country in the history of the EPL and even the first Asian Golden Boot in the top five leagues.
