Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carrie Lam said today (May 3) that after the sixth Chief Executive election this Sunday, the relevant documents and justifications for government restructuring will be submitted to the Chief Executive-elect's Office.
Answering a question at a press conference, Lam said that the if Chief Executive-elect's Office adopts the plan, it is expected to be approved by the Legislative Council before June 30.
Lam added that the government restructuring plan has always been expected to be implemented before the Chief Executive-elect takes office. "Although the bill has to be completed within a tight schedule, we are confident that it will be passed in the current Legislative Council, which is dominated by patriots," she said.
