The Electrical & Mechanical Services Department has won five gold, 13 silver and one bronze medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, adding to the encouraging results it gained in the competition last year.
Its gold medal projects include the Intelligent Elevator Movement Surveillance Device (i-EMSD), Intelligent Digital Escalator Monitoring System (i-DEMS), Robotic Lift Examiner, Smart Boiler Servicing Robot and Smart Driver Assistant for Automated People Mover.
The exhibition is one of the most significant global annual events devoted exclusively to inventions. About 800 inventions from 25 countries and regions were evaluated by the international jury of specialists.
The department said it will continue to stride ahead, innovate and create with its partners and stakeholders for the betterment of society.
It will also strengthen the matching of technological needs from the Government with innovation and technology solutions from startups and research and development institutes through the E&M InnoPortal to facilitate the application of technologies by bureaus and departments to support smart city development.
