
Speaking at a press conference this afternoon, Dr. Albert Au of the Centre for Health Protection said that Hong Kong on Sunday (Mar. 13) reported 32,430 new COVID-19 cases, including 13,335 confirmed through nucleic acid testing, 19,095 self-declared positive cases through rapid antigen tests, and three imported cases. There have been 694,246 confirmed cases in total under the fifth wave of the virus.
Dr. Au added that 264 additional patients died, including 190 people aged 39 to 105 who passed away in the past day, and 74 deaths aged 55 to 102 who were not announced earlier. Cumulatively, 3780 patients passed away in the fifth wave of the epidemic, with a mortality rate of 0.54%.
