The government announced today (Nov. 19) that in accordance with section 4(3) of the Legislative Council Ordinance, the Chief Executive in Council has specified January 1, 2022 as the commencement date of the seventh Legislative Council.
The LegCo General Election will be held on Dec. 19. A total of 90 members, 20 from geographical constituencies, 30 from functional constituencies and 40 from the Election Committee constituency, will be returned.
