Jointly organized by Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group, Federation of HK Guangdong Community Organizations, Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, Chinese Banking Association of HK and GBA Fintech Promotion Association, the 2nd GBA Development Forum was held Friday (Nov. 5) morning in HK, with the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau of the HKSAR government, the Commercial Association of Macao and the Macao Chinese Enterprises Association as special supporters.

The Chief Executive, Carrie Lam, said in her speech that she understands that all sectors in HK are eagerly looking forward to the quarantine-free cross-boundary travel, and the Central Government and the SAR Government also sent positive messages yesterday, which reflects the progress of the discussion between the experts and relevant officials of the HKSAR government and the Mainland authorities. She hoped that good news can be officially sent to HK residents and large-scale cross-boundary travel can be resumed in February of next year.

Lam added that the quarantine exemption from the Mainland to HK has been realized, with the implementation of the Return2hk Scheme and the Come2hk Scheme. The former has allowed nearly 300,000 HK residents to return to HK while the latter has allowed over 10,000 non-HK residents to enter HK without quarantine.

Yin Zonghua, deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR; Jiang Zaizhong, chairman of HK TKWW Media Group; Paul Chan, Secretary for Finance of HK; Gong Longjun, chairman of the Federation of HK Guangdong Community Organizations and Sun Yu, chairman of the Chinese Banking Association of HK, also addressed the event.

Business and political leaders, experts and youth entrepreneurs from the GBA gathered together and exchanged ideas on the future development of the region.
