The 2021 Election Committee's subsector ordinary elections in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) started on Sunday (Sept. 19).
The 412 candidates will compete for a total of 364 elected seats in 13 subsectors. HK people from all walks of life say that this is the first primary election after improving HK's electoral system, which is of great significance. They hope that capable patriots will be elected to implement "Patriots Administrating Hong Kong" and open a new chapter of good governance.
Five ordinary polling stations and one dedicated polling station at a police station set up for about 5 000 registered voters of the contested subsectors. The polling hours are from 9 am to 6 pm, a total of 9 hours. Voters/ARs are reminded to bring their original HK identity card to cast their vote(s) at the polling station allocated, as specified on their poll card.
