This episode of "Shanghai Through Our Eyes" features Nepal's Upadhyaya Nagendra Rijal, Operation Director of Wicresoft WDI.
Following his father's step, Rijal came to Shanghai to study at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2006. His father graduated from Donghua University in 1988.
"I think Shanghai is an international city," said Rijal."We provide our software products to our international clients. Our employees come from more than 50 countries."
In the past 14 years, Rijal has witnessed the completion of Shanghai Metro lines 3 to 15, the shortening of the train journey from Nanjing to Shanghai from 5 hours to 1 hour, as well as the transformation of the narrow winding Yan'an Road in front of his father's school, Shanghai Donghua University, into a neat and wide 8-lane road.
During his commute, Rijal often talks with the drivers.
"They talk about their local culture, and I talk about Nepal," said Rijal.
"Everyone likes coming to Shanghai, because there are so many opportunities in Shanghai."

The Information Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government unveiled earlier the "Shanghai Through Our Eyes" video series as part of efforts to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China this year.
Comprising 100 short videos produced by Xinmin Evening News, the series aims to share stories of Shanghai's development through the eyes of foreigners living in the city.
