In One Pic | Poles apart: Responses of HKBA & Law Society to various incidents
Recently, the Hong Kong Bar Association (HKBA) has repeatedly challenged the Basic Law, the National Security Law and the authority of the Central Government. Its total deviation from the spirit of the rule of law, its obvious pan-politicization orientation, and its appeasement and ambiguity towards illegal acts of violence have aroused strong discontent among all sectors in HK society. The Law Society of Hong Kong (Law Society), on the other hand, actively supports and explains to the public the Central Government's decisions and firmly upholds the spirit of the rule of law. As legal bodies, the attitudes of the two groups are poles apart.
The following picture demonstrates the completely distinct responses of the two organizations towards various incidents that occurred in the past year or so.
