The fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) adopted the decision on improving Hong Kong's electoral system on Thursday (March 11). The Taxi Drivers and Operators Association today (March 14) arranged for a convoy of 100 taxis that carry the national flag in support of the NPC's decision.
The Taxi Drivers and Operators Association said that starting from Container Terminal No. 9 in Tsing Yi in the morning, a motorcade of 100 taxis paraded along the West Kowloon Expressway to Gloucester Road and the Eastern Corridor to Kai Cheung Road in Kowloon Bay.
The taxies each carried a Chinese national flag, while posters with slogans of "patriots governing HK" and "supporting the improvement in HK's electoral system" could be seen on the taxi windows.
The Taxi Drivers & Operators Association said that the NPC's decision to improve the electoral system is long-anticipated and is of great necessity. "The decision provides a guarantee for patriots to administer HK, so that the HK society can get back on the right track and continue to prosper," an organizer said.
