As a result of the pandemic, the blood inventory in Hong Kong has plummeted to an extremely low level, with only enough stock of blood for three to four days, and a severe shortage of O and A blood types.
According to the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service, four blood donation stations in Mong Kok, West Kowloon, Tsuen Wan and Causeway Bay will be opened on the first day of the Lunar New Year (Feb. 12), and on the second day of the Lunar New Year (Feb. 13), there will be seven blood donation stations serving as usual.
From Feb. 12 to Feb. 15, every blood donor who donates successfully will receive a CNY goodie bag, while stocks last.
