As the pandemic continues to worsen overseas, the number of imported confirmed cases and asymptomatic infections continues to increase. The Shenzhen Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Shenzhen CDC) announced Wednesday (Dec. 30) that "14+7" managed quarantine and isolation measures for incoming people will be strictly implemented. All inbound travelers from outside mainland China will be subject to an additional 7-day community observation after the 14-day quarantine.

The Shenzhen CDC said in a notice that the 21-day medical quarantine and isolation requirements will be strictly implemented. All people concerned will be tested for coronavirus on the first, seventh, 14th and 21st day of the 21-day period respectively, for a total of four times. For entrants from the UK and other countries with confirmed cases of the virus variant, an additional nucleic acid test is required on day four during the quarantine period.

After being released from the 14-day quarantine, they will be placed under a 7-day community observation and will not be allowed to participate in group gathering activities during the period. A COVID-19 test will be scheduled at the end of the 7-day community management period.

In addition, the notice requires that people under the 7-day observation requirement, in principle, should not go out unless necessary. For those who need to go out due to special circumstances, they should report to a local community coordinator and strictly comply with the mask-wearing and social distancing rules.

The Shenzhen Municipal Government announced Tuesday (Dec. 29) that, with effect from next Tuesday (Jan. 5), people entering Shenzhen from Hong Kong via the Shenzhen Bay Port are required to present a hotel reservation confirmation at the government's website for the 14-day quarantine, in addition to a valid proof of a negative COVID-19 test result issued within 24 hours.
