100 Ways To Drool | Exotic taste of Harbin: Fried Pork in Scoop

Translated and dubbed by Ang Li & Hao Li, Edited by Maggie Cheng & Hao Li

Dubbed as the Ice City, Harbin in North China was just a small fishing village over a century ago. After the construction of the Chinese Eastern Railway, accompanied by the clattering sound of the railroad tracks hitting the railroad ties, the East and the West collided and a city of oriental and western coexistence began to emerge. In addition to the different styles of European architecture built a hundred years ago, the street also offers a wide variety of food with an East-meets-West flavor. In order to accommodate foreign guests, the dish was changed from the savory Beijing-Shandong cuisine "Stir-Fried Sliced Pork" to the sweet and sour " Fried Pork in Scoop", which has become the signature dish of this exotic city. With its sour smell, sweet taste, and salty chewing, this dish has held a special place in the hearts of Harbin people and has become a must-try dish conquering the taste buds of diners worldwide. Watch the video and explore the exotic taste of Harbin.
