Coronavirus | Chow Ho-ding: Mandatory testing in HK is imperative
The COVID-19 epidemic continues to deteriorate in HK. About 73 confirmed cases have been recorded today (Nov. 23), which is another daily high in more than three months since Aug. 16 after 68 confirmed cases yesterday (Nov. 22).
Legislative Councillor Chow Ho-ding said in a press interview that the fourth wave of the epidemic is approaching, and mandatory testing is imperative. He expected the government to take decisive action and do a better job of monitoring.
Chow pointed out that the fourth wave of the epidemic was imminent, and the public was worried. The government is determined to make further efforts in the fight against the disease, including mandatory quarantine. It is hoped that the government will make the necessary arrangements as soon as possible.
He also indicated that the government has been criticized for its importation of infected cases, mainly because of inadequate supervision. The government needs to learn a lesson from this painful experience, or else it will be difficult to eradicate the problem.
