OMG | China's hidden gem: Basum Tso Lake
Basum Tso Lake, also called Cuogao Lake, meaning green water in Tibetan, is a fantastic lake hidden among the mountains and valleys of Gongbo'gyamda County, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, at an altitude of 3,480 meters. Covering an area of 27 square kilometers, Basum Tso Lake spreads like a huge crescent.
In 1994, Basum Tso Lake was awarded the title of National Scenic Spot, and at the same time, was listed by the World Tourism Organization as a World Tourist Scenic Spot.
This scenic spot is known as a paradise on earth and is also known as "Little Switzerland" as it is home to all kinds of rare and wild animals and plants.
